We are a brand that loves the handcrafted objects1 of Mexico; we create collections that harmoniously fuse contemporary design with cultural traditions.

From our studio in Mexico City2, we meticulously design each piece and proudly collaborate with families of highly skilled artisans from Puebla, Michoacán3 and the State of Mexico, specialised in transforming raw materials from the earth into objects and furniture by hand. For these artisans, clay and stone are not merely a means of trade but a pure form of expression. From childhood, members of these families are encouraged to experiment with the elements of nature — earth, fire, air, water — playing with them through their creativity and tactile skill, which leads them to become master artisans after decades.

Apapacho.World honours the ancestral traditions our objects embody: the slow path that carries the stone from the mountain to the home, the specific moment of the year to gather beeswax, the days spent drying in the sun, and the gossip shared between all these moments. Sustainable production and consumption are the foundation. Expert artisans craft our objects with the utmost care and attention to detail, using their hands alongside repurposed household items that serve as tools to mould and shape each piece.

Our pieces are created through sustainable and ethical production practices that minimise environmental impact. A striking range of pieces, from kitchenware to decorative art objects — all painstakingly crafted by hand without the aid of machinery — results in unique works that bear the mark of the artisan’s hand.

Each piece tells a story, a story of cultural richness and artistic excellence, meant to be shared with the world. We champion the survival of the ancient craft of the mountains of Puebla, made with humility, dedication and kindness. We uphold work rooted in pre-Hispanic technique and tradition that, with its imperfections and organic character, harmonises beauty and art — resulting in ceramics that are unique in the world.

How the work is made

At Apapacho World we design objects the way one builds a presence: with time, with intention, and with respect for the material.

Each piece begins in our Mexico City studio as a formal question — about balance, scale, weight, ritual. From there, the object enters into dialogue with materials that already carry a history of their own: onyx, marble, clay, volcanic stone.

We do not seek to erase their natural marks. The veins, the tonal variations, the irregularities and fractures are not flaws: they are part of the language. The final form arises from that tension between control and material autonomy. The finish is slow, manual, deliberate. What is made should be felt.

Process as practice

Our work does not answer to industrial logic. We design in small series and limited editions, leaving room for conscious repetition, minimal correction, and listening to the process. The pieces evolve as they are produced: proportions change, surfaces are adjusted, the gesture is refined. The prototype is not discarded — it is incorporated. Each finished object carries the trace of its earlier versions. For us, time, too, is a material.
